Act! is a customer relationship management (CRM) system whose origins date back to the late 1980s. It was one of the first software packages to focus on contact management for small businesses. Over the years, Act! has evolved from a simple contact manager to a complete CRM solution. 
 
Act! is popular with small and medium-sized businesses, offering a wide range of features including contact management, sales pipeline management, task and activity tracking, and email marketing campaigns. Notably, the tool is available in both local (with Windows client) and cloud (web-based) versions.
 
Originally developed by Contact Software International, it was acquired by Symantec in 1993. Eventually, the product was taken over by Swiftpage, which continues to develop and expand.
